## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL07FA038](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL07FA038), Feb 2, 2007: Cessna 172K (N7109G), Bessemer, AL, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The non-instrument-rated pilot's continued visual flight rules flight into instrument meteorological conditions.

- [Incident 19801130087169I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19801130087169I), Nov 30, 1980: Cessna 172K (N7109G), Ft Wayne, IN, Minor damage. Pilot landed 2 miles short of runway, ran out of fuel.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System.
