THE AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED AT GOODSPRINGS NV. AFTER INSPECTING THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT RELEASE, THE CAUSE OF THE POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF THE RELEASE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED DUE TO THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE ACCIDENT. THE REPAIRS TO BE MADE TO THE AIRCRAFT IS STILL UNDETERMINED. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ASKED TO CONTACT ME WHEN THEY KNEW MORE. ANY OTHER FINDINGS WILL BE AN AMENDMENT TO THIS -23.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX07CA086](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX07CA086), Feb 9, 2007: Schweizer SGS 2-3C (N2438W), Jean, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: the tow hook jamming and failing to release from the glider.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
