## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N50368 LOST POWER AND MADE AN OFF-FIELD LANDING ON A HIGHWAY (I-15) 23 MILES NW OF MESQUITE, NV. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURIES TO THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT OR TO PEOPLE ON THE SURFACE. PIC STATED THAT THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (VGT) AND WAS ENROUTE TO KANAB, UT (KNB). PIC DID NOT REFUEL AT VGT AFTER ARRIVING FROM KANAB, UT 3 DAYS EARLIER. PIC STATED THAT HE DID NOT VISUALLY CHECK HIS FUEL TANKS DURING PREFLIGHT INSPECTION. IN ADDITION, THE PIC DID NOT FILE A FLIGHT PLAN NOR DID HE RECEIVE A WX/NOTAMS BRIEFING PRIOR TO FLIGHT. AS A RESULT OF THE FUEL DEPLETION, AN ADDITIONAL 5 GALLONS OF FUEL WAS OBTAINED FROM EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL FOR AN OFF-FIELD TAKEOFF FROM THE HIGHWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
