## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THIS WAS HIS FIRST FLIGHT IN THE AIRPLANE. AFTER LIFTOFF THE AIRPLANE WOULD NOT CLIMB, THEREFORE, HE DECIDED TO LAND THE AIRPLANE FROM AN ALTITUDE OF 4 FEET. THE LANDING ATTEMPT RESULTED IN A BOUNCED LANDING. THE AIRPLANE VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AT 40 KNOTS, TRAVELED THROUGH MUDDY GRASS, AND NOSED OVER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE MISPERCEIVED THE PROBLEM AND DID NOT APPLY THE REQUIRED CONTROL INPUT FORCE TO EFFECTIVELY MOVE THE ELEVATOR, WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN GREATER PITCH CONTROL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX07CA096](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX07CA096), Feb 17, 2007: Peay Quckie Q-200 (N57RM), Livermore, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot failed to maintain directional control during an aborted takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
