## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT 547 TO CYYC DEPARTED THE GATE WEIGHING 69,000 KG, 140 PASSENGERS PLUS 1 INFANT, AND 10,900 KG OF FUEL. THE LONGEST RUNWAY WAS REQUESTED FOR TAKE-OFF (25R). CREW WERE HANDED OVER TO GROUND CONTROL PRIOR TO SPOT 11 AND THEY WERE CLEARED TO TAXI VIA CHARLIE FOR 25R. AS THEY TURNED ONTO CHARLIE, CREW GOT A HOT BRAKE BCAM. THE OAT WAS 28 DEGREES C AT THE TIME WITH CALM WIND. CREW STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT AND RESET THE BSCU IN THE EVENT THEY WERE DRAGGING THE LEFT BRAKE WHICH WAS SHOWING A TEMP OF OVER 300 DEGREES C. THE BRAKE TEMP ON THE LEFT BOGEY CONTINUED TO RISE TO AROUND 495 DEGREES C UNTIL THEY REACHED BRAVO. THEY SET THE BRAKES AND NOTICED THE BRAKE TEMPS SLOWLY START TO DECREASE. CREW ASKED GROUND IF THEY COULD TURN OUT OF THE TAKE-OFF SEQUENCE AND THEY SHUT DOWN THE RH ENGINE. CREW THEN ASKED IF THEY COULD TAXI ON BRAVO TAXIWAY. CREW RE-CHECKED BRAKE TEMP LIMITATIONS FOR TAKEOFF IN THE AOM AND AFTER ANOTHER 30 MINUTES, THEY WERE AT THE END OF RUNWAY 25R, READY TO GO WITH ALL BEFORE TAKEOFF CHECKS COMPLETE AND THE BRAKES COOLING THROUGH 285 DEGREES C. AIRCRAFT ACCELERATED THROUGH 100 KTS VEERING LEFT WITH 2 LOUD BANGS. CREW ABORTED TAKEOFF AND PAX DEPLANED NORMALLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
