## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 24, 2007 AT APPROXIMATELY 1050 LOCAL TIME, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ , PILOT-IN-COMMAND AND SOLE OCCUPANT OF N771HC, A BEECHCRAFT MODEL BE-200 MULTI-ENGINE, TURBO-PROPELLER POWERED AIRPLANE, LANDED ON RUNWAY 17 AT THE ANGEL FIRE AIRPORT (AXX) AT ANGEL FIRE, NEW MEXICO. DURING SHORT FINAL, N771HC VEERED AROUND TO THE EAST OF A SNOW PLOW AT APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS FROM THE NORTH END OF RUNWAY 17. AFTERWARDS, THE PILOT LANDED N771HC APPROXIMATELY 1200-1500 FEET PAST (SOUTH) OF THE SNOW PLOW. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND DEPARTED THE EAST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AFTER HITTING THE PILED UP SNOW ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY WITH LEFT WING FLAPS. SHORTLY AFTER N771HC DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, THE NOSE WHEEL STRUCK A CONCRETE RUNWAY LIGHT BASE, WHICH CAUSED THE NOSE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET AFTER IT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. THE VISIBILITY WAS REPORTED TO BE APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF TO ONE MILE ACCORDING TO THE DRIVER OF THE SNOW PLOW. THE RUNWAY WAS COVERED WITH 6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW EXCEPT FOR THE EAST 1/4 STRIP (APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET OF THE 100 FOOT WIDTH OF RUNWAY 17) WHICH WAS CLEARED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN07LA090](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN07LA090), Mar 24, 2007: Beech 200 (N771HC), Angel Fire, NM, incident, minor damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inability to maintain clearance from the snow bank. Contributing factors were the pilot's failure to perform a go-around/missed approach procedure after observing snow removal equipment…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
