## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRMAN ADVISED THE WEATHER WAS GOOD AT INW, NO WIND, NO TRAFFIC, STRAIGHT IN LANDING AFTER A 3 HOUR VFR FLIGHT. AFTER TOUCHDOWN (WHEEL LANDING) AND BEGINNING TO SLOW ON LANDING ROLLOUT, HE REACHED DOWN TO RETRACT THE FLAPS AND WHEN HE LOOKED BACK UP, THE AIRPLANE HAD DRIFTED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND BEGAN A GROUND LOOP. THE LEFT WING TIP HIT THE GROUND FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT HORIZONTAL STAB AND LEFT ELEVATOR, CAUSING STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE, NO INJURIES TO HIMSELF, THE ONLY OCCUPANT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX07CA116](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX07CA116), Mar 29, 2007: Cessna 180D (N6450X), Winslow, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
