(-23) ON MARCH 31, 2007 AT ABOUT 15:15 MDT, EXPERIMENTAL BURDETTE RV-3 N455DB SUMMERSAULTED AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 35 AT SKYPARK AIRPORT IN WOODSCROSS, UTAH. THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. THE PILOT RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE FOLLOWING CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY DURING A LIGHT CROSSWIND ATMOSPHERIC ENVIRONMENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNDER VFR FLIGHT CONDITIONS AT THE TIME. NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS IN EFFECT AT THE TIME. THERE WAS NO ELT ACTIVATION AT THE TIME. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER LANDING, YAWED SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN DEPARTED THE WEST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, SUMMERSAULTED AND CAME TO REST ON ITS BACK. THIS IS A PRELIMINARY REPORT. WHEN MORE FACTS ARE KNOWN AN AMENDED REPORT WILL BE FILED.
