(-23) ON APRIL 26, 2007, N72953, A CESSNA 140 WAS DOING TOUCH AND GOS ON THE GRASS STRIP, AT BOB WILEY FIELD IN WINNER, SD. ON LANDING THE PILOT EITHER APPLIED THE BRAKES OR PUSHED FORWARD ON THE CONTROLS CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI07CA122](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI07CA122), Apr 27, 2007: Cessna 140 (N72953), Winner, SD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive use of braking during the landing roll, causing the aircraft to nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
