## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) APPROXIMATELY 2339 EDT THE AIRCRAFT, WHILE ENROUTE FROM PHL TO GSO, DIVERTED AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 2 AT RIC AFTER REPORTING A FIRE WARNING INDICATION IN THE REAR BAGGAGE CARGO HOLD. THE ARFF RESPONDED, THE RUNWAY WAS CLOSED AND THE 39 PASSENGERS, 6 NON-REV AND THREE CREW MEMBERS EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION INITIATED BY THE CAPTAIN, USING ALL AVAILABLE EXITS EQUALLY (MAIN CABIN DOOR, GALLEY DOOR, AND OVER WING EXITS). THERE WERE NO MALFUNCTIONS OF THE EXITS, SLIDES OR DOORS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES DURING THE EVACUATION. THE CAPTAIN STATED THAT ALL PASSENGERS ON BOARD WERE EVACUATED BY THE TIME THE FIRE TRUCKS ARRIVED ON SCENE WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 MINUTES. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF A FIRE OBSERVED EITHER PHYSICALLY OR THERMALLY BY THE ARFF FIRE CAPTAIN. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WARNING TEST SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED TO LGA FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE TEST SWITCH AND SYSTEM CHECK OUT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
