## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO WITNESSES, WHEN THE COLUMBIA LC42 TURNED DOWNWIND ON BASE LEG FOR RUNWAY 32, IT APPEARED HIGH AND FAST. THE PILOT OVERSHOT THE TURN, BUT CORRECTED. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN PAST MARKER 874, BOUNCED UP, FLOATED, BOUNCED AGAIN AND VEERED TO THE LEFT TOWARDS AN EMBANKMENT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. WITNESSES HEARD AN INCREASE IN POWER. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED UP THE EMBANKMENT, SCRAPING IT'S RIGHT WINGTIP. AS IT CAME OFF THE EMBANKMENT, IT LOST ITS NOSE GEAR AND VEERED ACROSS THE RUNWAY IMPACTING AIRCRAFT PARKED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY 32 NEAR THE DEPARTURE END. THE IMPACT WITH A CIRRUS SR-22 CAUSED THE SR-22'S PARACHUTE TO DEPLOY. THE COLUMBIA THEN IMPACTED A CESSNA 421. ALL THREE AIRCRAFT WERE CONSUMED BY FIRE. SEVERAL OTHER AIRCRAFT WERE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
