## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC REPORTED THAT HE LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE APPROXIMATELY 400 TO 500 FEET INTO HIS TAKE-OFF ROLL. THE AIRPLANE DEPARTED THE ACTIVE RUNWAY AND IMPACTED A CHAIN LINK FENCE CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. FURTHER INVESTIGATION DISCLOSED THAT THE PIC WAS OVERDUE HIS BIANNUAL FLIGHT REVIEW AND THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE AN AIRWORTINESS CERTIFICATE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA07CA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA07CA136), May 26, 2007: Lidgard 4-1200 (N613KF), Spartanburg, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot lost directional control of the airplane during takeoff. A contributing factor was the pilot's lack of experience in the accident airplane make/model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
