## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON LANDING AT A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP KNOWN AS PRATERS LANDING, LEFT GEAR WENT UP A SMALL KNOLL AND CAUSED AIRCRAFT TO VEER RIGHT. PILOT APPLIED LEFT BRAKE IN ATTEMPT TO PULL AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE LEFT BUT AIRCRAFT HAD DEPARTED RUNWAY AND BEGUN A DOWNHILL COURSE TO THE RIGHT. ONCE ON DOWNHILL SLOPE, PILOT APPLIED BOTH BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP AIRCRAFT BUT THIS HAD NO EFFECT; SKID MARKS IN GRASS AND DIRT INDICATE BOTH BRAKES WERE OPERATIONAL. AIRCRAFT CONTINUED DOWNHILL UNTIL IT IMPACTED TREES APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET FROM RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY. PILOT REPORTED ENCOUNTERING A GUST OF WIND FROM HIS LEFT JUST AFTER TOUCHDOWN.
