## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 07 AT ROCHE HARBOR WITH A VERY SLIGHT CROSSWIND THAT TOUCHDOWN WAS NORMAL AND ON THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT RUDDER WAS APPLIED TO COMPENSATE FOR THE DRIFT WHEN HE FELT A "THUNK" AND THE LEFT RUDDER PEDAL LOCKED FORWARD, OVERCENTER AND UNDERNEATH THE BRAKE PEDAL, THEREBY PREVENTING ANY USE OF THE LEFT BRAKE. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE EXECUTED AN INTENTIONAL GROUND LOOP BY APPLYING THE RIGHT BRAKE TO PREVENT FROM GOING OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND GOING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. THE LEFT GEAR FAILED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA07CA159](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA07CA159), Jun 15, 2007: Nelson Murphy SR3500 Moose (N623AM), Roche Harbor, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The jamming of the left brake during landing. A factor was the kit manufacturer's design of the brake system.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
