## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 17, 2007 THE PILOT OF N5304J, A KR-2 HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING AT REID-HILLVIEW AIRPORT WHEN THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. IN A STATEMENT FROM THE PILOT ON A 6 MILE FINAL TO 30L, HE PARTIALLY LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR TO ACT AS A SPEED BRAKE. AT APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT HE REVIEWED HIS CHECKLIST BUT DID NOT CATCH THE LANDING GEAR'S PARTIAL EXTENSION AND LANDED WITH THE GEAR PARTIALLY RETRACTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
