## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT WAS DEMONSTRATING A PJ-260 SR AERO SPORT AIRCRAFT (N85136) TO A PROSPECTIVE BUYER AT THE BELTZVILLE AIRPORT (14N) LOCATED IN LEHIGHTON, PA. THE STUDENT PILOT MADE THE TAKEOFF, AND ALLOWED THE COMMERCIAL PILOT, WHO WAS NOT ENDORSED FOR CONVENTIONAL GEAR AIRCRAFT, TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT. THE COMMERCIAL PILOT ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO GET INTO A SPIN, BOTH PILOTS WERE NOT ABLE TO RECOVER AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND. THE STUDENT PILOT ASSUMED PILOT IN COMMAND AUTHORITY PRIOR TO CONDUCTING THE FLIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL07CA095](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL07CA095), Jun 23, 2007: Zaverton Elmer PJ260 SR Aero Sport (N85136), Lehighton, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the pilot to maintain sufficient airspeed while maneuvering to avoid a stall, which resulted in an inadvertent stall/spin, and collision with trees and terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
