## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PIC IN THE LEFT SEAT WAS CONDUCTING A SOFT FIELD TAKEOFF UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE CFI IN THE RIGHT SEAT WHILE ACCOMPLISHING A FLIGHT REVIEW. EARLY IN THE TAKEOFF ROLL THE PIC HEARD A NOISE, THE CFI THOUGHT THEY WERE GETTING A FLAT ON THE RIGHT MAIN, BUT THE PLANE "VEERED" TO THE LEFT. THE PLANE STRUCK SEVERAL TAXIWAY LIGHTS AND HIT AN INTERSECTING TAXIWAY SIGN WITH THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR. THE PLANE THEN VEERED TO THE RIGHT ACROSS THE RUNWWAY, CONTINUED ACROSS A CLOSED PARALLEL RUNWAY, THEN CAME TO A REST WITH THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, TO RIGHT OF THE PARALLEL RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA07LA187](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA07LA187), Jun 26, 2007: Cessna 177RG (N47RH), Fresno, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
