## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT THIS WAS HIS FIRST FLIGHT IN THE AIRCRAFT AND THAT HE WAS FLYING SOLO TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE AIRCRAFT. HE OPERATED THE AIRCRAFT THE DAY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT FOR 0.8 AND ONLY 0.2 ON THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT. HE HAD CONDUCTED A TOUCH & GO AND ONCE AIRBORNE, HE STATED THAT A GUST OF WIND PICKED UP HIS RIGHT WING AND THAT HE CORRECTED USING RIGHT AILERON AND RUDDER. HOWEVER UPON EXAMINATION OF THE AIRCRAFT, THE RUDDER WAS IN THE FULL LEFT POSITION AND THE AILERONS IN THE FULL RIGHT POSITION. AFTER INTERVIEWING THE PILOT, HE STATED THAT HIS RIGHT FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE RIGHT RUDDER PEDAL AND ONTO THE LEFT RUDDER PEDAL ON THE CO-PILOT'S SIDE AND THEREFORE APPLYING FULL LEFT RUDDER AND CAUSED A CROSS CONTROL STALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA07CA112](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA07CA112), Jun 27, 2007: Evektor-Aerotechnik Sportstar (N812EV), Greenville, SC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent use of the wrong rudder during initial climb which resulted in a loss of control and collision with the ground.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
