## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE TAXIING FOR DEPARTURE, FLIGHT ATTENDANT REPORTED SMOKE AND HEAT IN THE CABIN AREA. FLIGHT CREW SECURED THE AIRCRAFT AND EVACUATED THE PASSENGERS ON THE TAXIWAY. A CANADIAN CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY INSPECTOR INVESTIGATED THE INCIDENT AND DETERMINED THAT THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM MOTOR HAD FAILED, THREW THE DRIVE BELT OFF AND WAS CAUSING SOME SMOKE IN THE CABIN. THE SYSTEM WAS DISABLED PER THE MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN RETURNED TO SERVICE. ALSO, THE FSDO BECAME AWARE OF THIS INCIDENT VIA THE CARRIER'S MIS REPORTING SYSTEM. THE FSDO WAS NEVER OFFICIALLY NOTIFIED. THE REASON BLOCK 36 IS BLANK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
