As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE END OF RUNWAY 18, CONTINUED DOWN A 5 FOOT EMBANKMENT AND SUSTAINED DAMAGE. IT APPEARS THAT THE PILOT "LANDED LONG" AND WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP BEFORE DEPARTING THE RUNWAY. SKID MARKS MEASURING 513 FEET WERE DOCUMENTED AT THE SCENE. 7/5/2007. THIS INCIDENT WAS ELEVATED TO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRFRAME. A SEPARATE ACCIDENT REPORT WILL BE FILED.(-23 AMENDMENT) DAMAGE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE AIRCRAFT GOING OVER A BERM AND INTO ANOTHER. THE AIRCRAFT RECORDS AND REPAIR STATION RECORDS SHOWED NO INDICATION OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA07CA115](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA07CA115), Jul 1, 2007: Mooney M20R (N321MD), Mitchellville, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain the proper touchdown point for landing and his failure to initiate a go-around when he realized the airplane would touchdown past the intended point.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
