## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N292F WAS APPROACHING THE OLNEY, TX (KONY) AIRPORT AND EXPERIENCED A SEVERE ENGINE VIBRATION FOLLOWED BY AN ENGINE FAILURE. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND (PIC), ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ATTEMPTED TWO RESTARTS WITH NO SUCCESS. HE DECLARED HIS EMERGENCY ON THE COMMON TRAFFIC ADVISORY FREQUENCY (CTAF) AND PROCEEDED TO LAND. HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ALTITUDE TO MAKE AN APPROACH TO ONE OF THE RUNWAYS SO HE OPTED TO LAND IN THE GRASS. N292F CROSSED ONE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST IN GRASS AND MUD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OR BYSTANDERS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO AIRPORT FACILITIES. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS MINIMAL AND VERIFIED BY OUR DESIGNATED AIRWORTHINESS REPRESENTATIVE (DAR), ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. ONE BLADE OF A THREE BLADE PROPELLER SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT IN FLIGHT CAUSING THE ENGINE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION SHOOK THE CARBURETORS LOOSE FROM THE ENGINE CAUSING THE ENGINE FAILURE AND INABILITY TO RESTART. ALSO DAMAGED WERE TWO THROTTLE CABLES. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS NOTED BY THE PIC OR DAR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
