## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A PILOT, TAKING OFF OUT OF VOYAGER VILLAGE'S PRIVATE AIRPORT, ABORTED HIS TAKE OFF THINKING THAT HIS AIRCRAFT WASN'T CLIMBING AT A NORMAL RATE. IN AN ATTEMPT TO LAND THE AIRPLANE ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY, THE AIRPLANE HIT THE GROUND WITH ENOUGH IMPACT TO BEND THE SHEET METAL AROUND THE FIRE WALL. THE AIRCRAFT'S PROPELLER, THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TAIL AND THE LEFT WING TIP WERE ALSO DAMAGED. THE PILOT AND PASSENGERS WALKED AWAY WITHOUT INJURY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI07LA249](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI07LA249), Jul 8, 2007: Cessna C-177 (N2292Y), Webster, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power for an undetermined reason, and the pilot's misjudged flare during the subsequent forced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
