## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APPROACH TO EYQ, N91454'S ENGINE STARTED TO SPUTTER. THE PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WHEN IT WAS EVIDENT THAT HE COULD NOT MAKE THE PLANNED RUNWAY AT EYQ. THE PIC MADE AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING ON AN ADJACENT GOLF COURSE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON A BERM AT A HEADING OF 204 DEGREES SW. THE NOSE GEAR SHEARED OFF AND THE PROPELLER WAS CURLED BACK. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
