## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND, A STRONG GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE AIRCRAFT. HE LOST CONTROL WHICH RESULTED IN THE LEFT WING TIP MAKING CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. THE LANDING ENDED WITH THE AIRCRAFT GROUND-LOOPING. THUNDERSTORMS AND STRONG, TURBULENT WINDS EXISTED IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. THE WEST END OF THE FIELD, ON WHICH THE PILOT WAS INTENDING TO LAND, IS KNOWN FOR ERRATIC WIND PATTERNS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
