## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER THE SIXTH PRACTICE AUTOROTATION, AIRCRAFT LANDED HARD AT THE TERMINATION OF A 180 DEGREE LEFT-HAND AUTOROTATION. PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT ACCELERATED IN A NOSE-DOWN ATTITUDE, AFT CYCLIC AND COLLECTIVE APPLICATION DID NOT ARREST THE RATE OF DESCENT OR CHANGE THE AIRCRAFT NOSE-LOW ATTITUDE. A VIBRATION WAS FELT DURING THE AUTOROTATION. THE SECOND PILOT, INSTRUCTOR, STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENTS WERE ALL OPERATING IN THE GREEN AND CONFIRMED THAT A VIBRATION WAS FELT DURING THE AUTOROTATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA07CA205](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA07CA205), Jul 17, 2007: Robinson R22 (N707WH), Bend, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: An excessive descent rate during a simulated power-off autorotation, and the pilot's failure to initiate corrective action in time to keep the helicopter from impacting the terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
