## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 18 AT OSH. DUE TO EAA CONVENTION TAKING PLACE, THE RUNWAY WAAS SPLIT INTO THREE LANDING ZONES MARKED AT THE APPROACH END OF EACH ZONE BY COLORED CIRCLES VISIBLE FROM THE AIR. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CONFIGURED HIS AIRCRAFT AND LINED UP TO LAND APPROXIMATELY TWO HUNDRED FEET PRIOR TO THE "BLUE" CIRCLE. ATC INSTRUCTED HIM NOT TO LAND PRIOR TO THE "BLUE" CIRCLE. HE ADDED POWER, BUT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT STALLED, DROPPED 25-50 FEET AND CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. THERE WAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR FATALITIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI07CA228](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI07CA228), Jul 24, 2007: Flight Design Ctsw (N377CT), Oshkosh, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during landing which resulted in an inadvertent stall and subsequent impact with the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
