## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED WILLOW SPRINGS AIRPORT AT APPROXIMATELY 7:15 CDT FOR A SHORT LOCAL FLIGHT. ON CLIMB OUT, PILOT REPORTED NEEDING MORE THAN NORMAL RIGHT AILERON (SIC) TO KEEP THE WINGS LEVEL. HE ATTEMPTED A SLOW RIGHT TURN AND THE AIRCRAFT RESPONDED BUT WITH WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A BIT MORE RIGHT AILERON THAN NORMAL. HE THEN INITIATED A LEFT TURN AND THE AIRCRAFT BANKED SHARPLY LEFT. WHEN HE TRIED TO SLOW THE BANK, HE SAID HE FELT SOMETHING LET GO--MAYBE HEARD A POP. HE SAID HE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE AN AILERON LET GO. HE SAID HE PUT IN HEAVY RIGHT RUDDER AND FROM THERE THE AIRCRAFT WAS OUT OF CONTROL. AIRCRAFT CRASHED IN A REMOTE, HEAVILY WOODED AREA.
