## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 27 AND STARTED TO BOUNCE SEVERAL TIMES TURNING INTO AN OSCILLATION, LIFTING THE NOSE GEAR OFF THE GROUND. AFTER SEVERAL OSCILLATIONS OF THE NOSE GEAR, THE AIRCRAFT FINALLY CAME BACK DOWN COLLAPSING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. AIRCRAFT THEN SLID TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE AND CAME TO REST IN THE GRASS, APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET PAST THE 2,200 FOOT MARKER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL07CA118](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL07CA118), Aug 15, 2007: Piper PA28-140 (N6455R), Front Royal, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper recovery from a bounced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
