## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER STARTING #2 ENGINE, WHILE STARTING #1 ENGINE, CPT'S, ND AND LOWER CENTER PANEL DISPLAY WENT BLANK FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. AFTER THE SCREENS REESTABLISHED DISPLAYS, A STRONG ACRID SMELL WAS EVIDENT, ALONG WITH LIGHT SMOKE IN THE FLIGHT DECK. THE SMOKE QUICKLY INCREASED TO MODERATE AND THE "EQUIPMENT COOLING OVERHEAD" ECAS MSG APPEARED. CABIN CREW AT STATION 1L REPORTED STRONG SMELL, AND A NOISE FROM THE FORWARD E/E BAY BELOW HER JUMP SEAT. APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST AND PROCEDURES WERE COMPLETED AND SMOKE DISPERSED. AIRCRAFT WAS PUSHED BACK TO A HARD STAND. INVESTIGATION SHOWED THAT THE P110 PANEL IN THE FORWARD LOWER E/E BAY HAD NUMEROUS RELAYS AND WIRING BURNT. THE ACO AND AEG BOSTON AND SEATTLE HAVE BEEN INFORMED. THEY ARE GATHERING INFORMATION ON THIS INCIDENT AS REQUIRED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
