## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED DIRT STRIP DOWNWIND, TO THE WEST WITH A LOAD. TAILWHEEL WAS LIFTING OFF AND SETTLING BACK DOWN REPEATEDLY. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF AND GROUND LOOPED THE AIRPLANE. THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND. LEFT GEAR AND WIND SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA07CA244](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA07CA244), Aug 30, 2007: Air Tractor AT-502B (N8521Z), Salome, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the tailwind condition and failure to maintain directional control during the takeoff roll/run, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
