## Narrative

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2007 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:45 AM, AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT AVENTURA II SEAPLANE CRASHED INTO LAKE OKEECHOBEE FLORIDA FOLLOWING PRACTICE TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS ON LAKE. PILOT MADE A SUCCESSFUL TOUCH AND GO LANDING, AT LAKE, AND WAS PREPARED TO ATTEMPT ANOTHER TOUCH AND GO LANDING WHEN PILOT MISJUDGED WAVE HEIGHT AND HIT NOSE OF AIRCRAFT RESULTING IN A NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE. NOSE HIGH ATTITUDE CAUSED TAIL OF AIRCRAFT TO IMPACT WATER SURFACE, THUS RESULTING IN A PITCHING OVER MOTION. PILOT HAD ONE HAND ON CONTROL STICK AND THE OTHER HAND ON THE THROTTLE. ABRUPT MOTIONS OF AIRCRAFT, DURING LANDING ATTEMPT, CAUSED PILOT TO APPLY FULL THROTTLE AND MOVE THE CONTROL STICK TO THE LEFT. AIRCRAFT TURNED AND YAWED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT, EJECTING PILOT FROM AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO FLY, IN GROUND EFFECT, FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE BEFORE IMPACTING WATER AND FLIPPING OVER. AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. PILOT HAS A SPORT CERTIFICATE.
