## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N24WR, A SCHLEICHER ASW-24E GLIDER, WHILE TURNING BASE TO FINAL, HAD THE WING TIP CONTACT THE GROUND CAUSING THE GLIDER TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THIS WAS DETERMINED TO BE PILOT ERROR GETTING TOO LOW AND TOO SLOW ON THE APPROACH TO LAND. THE COMMAND PILOT WAS CANDID IN HIS STATEMENT WITH ALL REMARKS BEING FORTHRIGHT. HE IS A HIGH TIME GLIDER PILOT WITH A GLIDER INSTRUCTOR RATING. THE PIC WAS REEXAMINED IN BOTH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL AREAS AND FOUND TO BE SATISFACTORY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
