## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N988JB WAS TAXIING TO THE PARKING APRON AT THE SAWYER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN GWINN MI WHEN THE COWLING FOR THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL BECAME IMPINGED BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND BRAKE, SUBSEQUENTLY CAUSING THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL-BRAKE TO LOCK UP AND CATCH FIRE. THE FIRE WAS IMMEDIATELY IDENTIFIED BY THE PILOT AND THE FBO. ARFF WAS DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED WITHOUT CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT'S ACTIONS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
