## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2007, THE PILOT TURNED FROM BASE TO FINAL. HE LINED UP ON THE RUNWAY AND ENTERED A SLIP TO LOSE ALTITUDE. HE HELD THE SLIP FOR APPROXIMATELY 190 FT WHICH MADE HIM LAND LONG ON THE RUNWAY. WITNESSES SAID THAT THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FORCE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCING TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE HITTING THE FENCE AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY WHICH RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPING OVER ONTO ITS CANOPY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC07LA241](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC07LA241), Sep 29, 2007: Everson Sidewinder (N62RE), Pensacola, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain the proper touchdown point while landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
