## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER LANDING AND WHILE ROLLING OUT THE LEFT WING OF THE AIRCRAFT CAME IN CONTACT WITH BRUSH OVER GROWING THE RUNWAY. THE CONTACT WITH THE BRUSH CAUSED THE PILOT TO LOSE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT LEAVING THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST PERPENDICULAR TO THE RUNWAY AFTER CONTACTING SOME LARGER BRUSH AND TREES. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE OF BOTH WINGS, LEFT WING TIP MINOR DAMAGE AND A COLLAPSE OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. THE WINGSPAN OF THIS PARTICULAR PA-28-181 IS LISTED AS 35 FEET. THE WIDTH OF THE RUNWAY IS LISTED AS 30 FEET. THE PRIVATE AIRPORT HAD NOT BEEN KEPT UP ALLOWING BRUSH TO GROW UP TO AND OVER THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT REPORTED NO MECHANICAL FAILURE(S) AND SIMPLY STATED THAT HE MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE FROM THE WINGTIP TO THE OVERHANGING BRUSH.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
