## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 17 AT INDIANOLA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (IDL) AND GROUND LOOPED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR FOLDED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT AND THE RIGHT WING TIP STRUCK THE GROUND. THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE AIRCRAFT FRAME WHEN THE RIGHT GEAR FOLDED BELOW THE FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW08CA005](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW08CA005), Oct 7, 2007: Stinson 108-2 (N9603K), Indianola, MS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to compensate for the existing wind conditions while landing. A contributing factor was the crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
