As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED ON OCTOBER 8, 2007 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:00 AM LOCAL, HE WAS RETURNING TO THE FESTUS AIRPORT (KFES) FROM A PERSONAL TRIP. UPON MAKING HIS APPROACH TO LAND ON RUNWAY 36, HE OBSERVED A DEER RUN ONTO THE RUNWAY AND DIRECTLY IN HIS LANDING PATH. HE ATTEMPTED TO MANEUVER THE AIRCRAFT TO AVOID STRIKING THE DEER BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. THE NOSE GEAR DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AT THE ATTACH POINT TO THE AIRFRAME AFTER STRIKING THE DEER. THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE RUNWAY BENDING THE PROPELLER BLADES AFT RESULTING IN THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTING THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT AND INDICATIONS THAT THE METAL SKIN LANDING GEAR DOORS CONTACTED AN OBJECT. THE NOSE WHEEL, GEAR DOORS, AND UNDERSIDE OF THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT HAD APPARENT DEER FUR IN NUMEROUS AREAS.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
