## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CREW ASSIGNED MISSION TO BUFFALO HOSPITAL, BUFFALO, MN. PILOT CHECKED WEATHER AND DEPARTED HELIPAD. ON DEPARTURE, THE PILOT DETERMINED HE HAD A STUCK MIC AND ABORTED THE MISSION. HE PLANNED AN APPROACH BASED ON THE CURRENT WINDS. WINDS WERE REPORTED 090/10G18. ON APPROACH FOR LANDING, THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO REDUCE HIS GROUNDSPEED NOR HIS DESCENT RATE. THE HELICOPTER MADE HARD GROUND CONTACT WITH THE LEFT SKID AND SUBSEQUENTLY ROLLED ONTO THE RIGHT SKID. THE HELICOPTER MOMENTUM THEN ROLLED IT FORWARD, CAUSING THE CHIN BUBBLE TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THE PILOT APPLIED POWER AND AFT CYCLIC TO STOP THE FORWARD MOMENTUM CAUSING THE HELICOPTER TO BECOME AIRBORNE AGAIN AND ENTER A HOVER. THE PILOT THEN HOVER TAXIED AND SLOWLY SET THE HELICOPTER DOWN NEAR THE HELIPAD. THE HELICOPTER SETTLED SLIGHTLY NOSE DOWN AND LEANING RIGHT.
