## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON OCTOBER 17, 2007, AT 1515 MST, A CESSNA 210, N215MD, REGISTERED TO THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED SHORT OF RUNWAY 29 AT THE FREMONT COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT (K1V6) IN CANYON CITY, COLORADO. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS HAVING HIS BIANNUAL FLIGHT REVIEW WITH CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE TWO WERE ON THE LAST LANDING, WHEN THE PILOT TRIED TO INCREASE POWER WITH NO RESPONSE AND TRIED TO FLARE THE AIRCRAFT AT THE LAST MINUTE TO NO AVAIL. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM FREMONT COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT AND WAS SCHEDULED TO END AT THE SAME AIRPORT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT AND INSTRUCTOR. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER, GEAR DOORS, TIRES, NOSE GEAR AND MAIN LANDING GEARS. VISUAL EXAMINATION OF THE AIRCRAFT CONCLUDED THAT THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR RECEIVED THE MOST DAMAGE. A CRACK WAS IDENTIFIED ON THE LOWER STRUCTURAL BEAM.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN08LA014](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN08LA014), Oct 17, 2007: Cessna 210 (N215MD), Canon City, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the engine throttle cable resulting in a lack of engine power when commanded.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
