## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) REPORTS INDICATE THAT THE AIRMAN FAILED TO PUT THE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION BEFORE LANDING ON RUNWAY 25 AT KODIAK AIRPORT. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO CONTACT AIRMAN. IT APPEARS HE IS OUT OF TOWN AND MAY BE RETURNING ON 11/13/07. (-23 AMENDMENT) AIRMAN FAILED TO PUT THE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION BEFORE LANDING ON RUNWAY 25 AT KODIAK AIRPORT. AIRMAN INDICATED HE WAS DISTRACTED BY TRAFFIC IN THE AREA THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN VISUAL CONTACT WITH AND SUBSEQUENTLY FORGOT TO PUT THE LANDING GEAR DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SMOOTHLY ON THE PAVEMENT BUT CAME TO A STOP SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTER THAN USUAL. KEEL STRIPS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOATS SHOWED SIGNS OF WEAR AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED AND THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP UNDER ITS OWN POWER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
