## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING CLIMB OUT THE CREW FELT A VIBRATION AND HAD SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE OIL QUANTITY WENT TO ZERO AND THE OIL PRESSURE WAS FLUCTUATING. THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND THE VIBRATION CEASED AND THE SMOKE CLEARED. NUMBER ONE ENGINE WAS BEING USED TO POWER THE AIR CONDITION PACK AND THE SMOKE WAS CAUSED BY OIL LEAKING FROM THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE BEING INGESTED INTO THE AIR CONDITIONING PACK. THE CREW DIVERTED TO SKBO AND THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. THERE IS NO SHOP DATA AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME TO DETERMINE THE EXACT FAILURE POINT ON THE ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
