## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER CONDUCTING A NORMAL LANDING AND TAKEOFF THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A NO-FLAP, FORWARD SLIP TO LANDING. HE LANDED WITH EXCESS AIRSPEED AT APPROXIMATELY MIDFIELD. WHEN THE PILOT REALIZED THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT RUNWAY TO STOP HE CONSIDERED A GO AROUND ATTEMPT, BUT INSTEAD LOCKED THE BRAKES AND SLID OFF THE RUNWAY INTO SOFT SOD. THE NOSE GEAR BUCKLED AND THE PLANE CAME TO REST ON ITS NOSE AND WINGTIP. THE FIREWALL WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA037](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA037), Oct 31, 2007: Cessna 152 (N64994), Turlock, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed decision to abort the landing, which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
