## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF FROM RWY 34 AT 7S5, AT A HEIGHT OF APPROXIMATELY 75 FEET AGL THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED DOWN ABRUPTLY. THE AIRCRAFT SIMULTANEOUSLY TURNED APPROXIMATELY 100 DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND IMPACTED THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. THE PILOT STATED THE TAKEOFF SEEMED NORMAL, BUT THE AIRPLANE DID NOT ACCELERATE AFTER LIFT OFF AND HE WAS UNABLE TO CLIMB. HE CONSIDERED ABORTING THE TAKEOFF WHEN SUFFICIENT RUNWAY WAS AVAILABLE TO LAND BUT HE DELAYED HIS DECISION UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08LA025](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08LA025), Nov 2, 2007: Interplane XJ (N232PM), Independence, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power for undetermined reasons. Also causal was the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed, which resulted in a spin and collision with terrain

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
