## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 11/06/2007, THE PILOT OF N71KV WHILE TAXIING FOR TAKE-OFF ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT'S T-TAIL TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE SEAM OF THE HANGAR DOOR DAMAGING THE ELEVATOR AND HORIZONTAL STABILIZER AND REMOVING A STATIC WICK WHICH LANDED IN THE GRASS NEXT TO A DUMPSTER NEXT TO THE HANGAR. THE PILOT THEN PROCEEDED TO THE RUNWAY WHERE HE MADE A TAKE-OFF AND THE PORTION OF THE ELEVATOR THAT HAD BEEN DAMAGED BY THE HANGAR DOOR FLEW OFF SOMEWHERE ON OR AFTER ROTATION AND LANDED IN THE GRASS TO THE SOUTH OF RUNWAY 4/22 AT A5 INTERSECTION. STATIC WICK, ALSO FROM THE ELEVATOR, LANDED AND STUCK IN ONE OF THE RUNWAY GROVES AROUND THE SAME INTERSECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
