## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APPROACH TO RUNWAY 34 THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED NUMEROUS TREE TOPS, APPROXIMATELY 300 YARDS BEFORE TOUCH DOWN. THE TREES FORM A LINE APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS LONG AND 15 YARDS WIDE AND ARE 40 TO 50 FEET HIGH ON THE EDGE OF THE PALMER GOLF COURSE NEXT TO OUTER LOOP RD. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN APPROX. 30 TO 35 YARDS FROM THE TREES, IN LINE WITH THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS POINTING TO THE EAST. ACCORDING TO THE NTSB INVESTIGATOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE STUDENT COMMENTED THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT HAD CONTACTED THE TREES. THIS WAS THEIR SECOND NIGHT TIME TOUCH AND GO LANDING. THE STUDENT PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE LEFT SEAT AND THE INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE RIGHT SEAT WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. I HAVE PLACED A PHONE CALL TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON HIS RECORDER. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC08LA018](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC08LA018), Nov 9, 2007: Cessna 150 (N11764), Palmer, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor's inadequate supervision of the student, and his delayed go-around. Contributing to the accident was dark night conditions.
