## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT CHOSE TO LAND ON 18 (LENGTH 2691) VS. 28R OR L (3500+) BECAUSE WINDS WERE 210 @21G26. HE STATED HE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A TRICKY LANDING AND DEBATED USING FULL OR 20 FLAPS. UPON TOUCH DOWN HE INITIATED BRAKING BUT BRAKES FELT SOFT AND SOMEWHAT INEFFECTIVE. WITH ABOUT 1/3 RUNWAY REMAINING, HE SAID HE KNEW HE WOULD BE UNABLE TO GO AROUND, AND THEN HE SAID HE LITERALLY STOOD ON THE BRAKES. WHEN HE REALIZED HE WASN'T GOING TO STOP BEFORE THE END OF THE RUNWAY, HE DECIDED TO SWERVE TO THE RIGHT OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT NUMEROUS TIMES LANDING THE AIRCRAFT SINCE PURCHASE (43 HOURS AGO) HE FELT THE BRAKES WERE SOFT AND QUESTIONABLY EFFECTIVE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
