## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES WEST OF THE BETHEL AIRPORT (BET). THE PILOT STATED WHILE CLIMBING OUT ON DEPARTURE FROM BETHEL HE RETRACTED THE FIRST 10 DEGREES OF FLAPS AND THEN THE REMAINING 10 DEGREES OF FLAPS. THEN HE FELT A VORTICES TYPE OF TURBULENCE WHICH TENDED TO ROLL HIM TO THE RIGHT. SHORTLY AFTER THAT HE EXPERIENCED ANOTHER TURBULENT EPISODE WHICH WAS MORE VIOLENT AND ATTEMPTED TO ROLL HIM TO THE RIGHT. HE STATED THAT HE LOWERED THE NOSE THIS TIME WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS A THIRD TURBULENT EPISODE WHILE HE STILL HAD THE NOSE DOWN ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT, WHEN HE SAW THE GROUND THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND STARTED ADDING FLAPS AND REDUCING POWER TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT DOWN, WHEN THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND.
