## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT ABOUT 19:44 MST ON 12/18/2007, A CESSNA 310R PILOTED BY THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS TAXIING ON TAXIWAY H LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF SKY HARBOR AIRPORT NEAR THE COMMON USE RAMP. A FEDEX F27 AIRCRAFT WAS PARKED ON THE RAMP AS HE ENTERED THE COMMON USE RAMP;ACCORDING TO THE PILOT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING ON HIS AIRCRAFT AND HIS TAXI LIGHTS WERE ON. AS THE PILOT WAS MAKING HIS RADIUS AROUND THE F27 HE STRUCK A SET OF CARGO DOLLIES POSITIONED FOR THE F27 ON THE COMMON USE RAMP WITH THE LEFT PROPELLER MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT IT WAS DARK AND THAT THE DOLLIES WERE SHADOWED BY THE F27. THE COLLISION CAUSED THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TO SHEAR FROM THE AIRCRAFT WHICH CAUSED ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE LH HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, LEFT HAND WING AND WING TIP AND DAMAGE TO THE #1 ENGINE PROPELLER. THE CARGO DOLLIES WERE STATIC AND REFLECTORS WERE AFFIXED ON THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE BASE UNIT. SKID MARKS WERE WITNESSED ON THE RAMP AND WERE IN THE DIRECTION AWAY FROM WHERE THE CARGO DOLLIES WERE POSITIONED. THE REPORT PROVIDED BY PHX AIRPORT POLICE STATED THAT THE PILOT WAS NOT WEARING ANY CORRECTIVE LENSES, THE PILOT'S WRITTEN STATEMENT INDICATES THAT THE WAS WEARING CORRECTIVE LENSES AT IMPACT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX08CA039](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX08CA039), Dec 19, 2007: Cessna 310R (N5499J), Phoenix, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of a wrong taxi route, inadequate visual lookout, failure to maintain separation from ground obstacles, and excessive taxi speed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
