## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT KSDC IN A CROSSWIND. A STUDENT AND CFI WERE ON BOARD. DURING THE FLARE, THE STUDENT PULLED AFT TOO FAR ON THE YOKE, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO STALL AND SETTLE INTO THE GROUND. THE CFI ATTEMPTED TO RECOVER BUT WAS TOO SLOW. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE GROUND HARD, RESULTING IN THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL ASSEMBLY DEPARTING. THE CFI RETURNED TO THE FIELD AND MADE THE LANDING. AN AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR EXAMINED THE AIRCRAFT AND DETERMINED THAT THE PART OF THE LANDING GEAR THAT FAILED WAS ALREADY CRACKED. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
