## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE ROTORWAY EXEC 162F DID A DYNAMIC ROLLOVER AS THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LIFTED THE HELICOPTER OFF THE GROUND. THE HELICOPTER STARTED DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LOWERED THE COLLECTIVE TO SET THE HELICOPTER ON THE GROUND. THE LEFT SKID MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND, THE HELICOPTER THEN ROLLED OVER TO THE LEFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA08CA055](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA08CA055), Dec 22, 2007: Brooks Exec 162F (N66012), Santa Maria, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain control of the helicopter during hover. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's lack of experience in rotorcraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
